ONE OF NEW ENGLAND’S LARGEST RETAIL BANKS asked Corporate Technologies to propose a computing infrastructure supporting an ambitious online one-to-one marketing initiative. Stringent industry regulations required careful coordination with the bank’s systems and application security—consistent with its corporate security policy.

Our technical needs analysis uncovered several challenges. We had to synchronize the bank’s constantly changing online environment with their legacy environment, while verifying that online applications could access legacy data without affecting its source. IT security proved challenging as well—it had to be simple to allow access by many users yet fully compliant with the bank’s security policy.

Our implementation—a multitiered server architecture, data integration, and security solution—fully supported the bank’s transition to personalized online banking without disrupting system performance or uptime. We simplified the customer experience for the bank’s clients and dramatically reduced administrative costs through embedded management functionality, enabling minimal staff to manage a system supporting millions of clients.

A LEADING BIOPHARMA engaged Corporate Technologies to create its new multi-million dollar data center to support a fast-track agricultural gene discovery initiative with demanding time-to-market requirements. The firm projected significant revenue gains from improved crop yields if it could complete gene sequencing before its competitors.

The project held many complexities, starting with Very Large Data Base (VLDB) technology to meet massive computing demands and deliver transactions quickly. Performance had to match availability and scalability, and for continuity, our solution had to parallel the physical build-out of the data center—so when it went live, so did we. Throughout, we project-managed the entire operational implementation.

We completed the project in less than two months and successfully enabled both rapid data access for the genomic algorithm and rapid backup and recovery for this 24/7 mission-critical application.
