A global specialty biopharmaceutical company sought out Corporate Technologies Staffing Services Group to augment their internal personnel in a Business Intelligence development engagement that required Business Objects expertise. After interviewing our client, one of our senior BI solutions architects produced a comprehensive job spec that covered specific work to be completed:

• provide Universe development and maintenance support
• provide Web Intelligence and Desktop Intelligence development and support
• perform testing on reports and Universes that are being modified or enhanced for production release
• update Universe and report descriptions
• provide Xcelsius development and support
• provide Business Objects Administration support
• research issues relating to Universe and report performance

Drawing from our pool of consultants who had already proven their BI skill set on other Business Objects managed projects, we placed our first consultant on site—a Universe/Web Developer—three days after the statement-of-work was approved. Not only was our first placement effective, but we added a second consultant—a Business Objects Report Specialist— and both got extended twice.

Our consultants helped our client develop a successful Business Intelligence prototype and initial deployment. Early results indicate that the solution is yielding the caliber of relevant information that allows users in R&D to increase new product time-to-market, finance personnel to identify promising areas of cost containment, and sales managers to target market segments likely to represent best revenue opportunities.
